The Women in STEM Leadership Award recognises a distinguished woman who has made significant contributions to the fields of science, technology, engineering, or mathematics (STEM), while demonstrating outstanding leadership, mentorship, and advocacy. This award honours women who break barriers, inspire future generations, and lead high-impact work in research, innovation, or applied science. These women are not only advancing STEM fields but are also paving the way for equitable representation of women in traditionally male-dominated industries.
ELIGIBILITY
Open to women-identifying professionals in STEM disciplines (science, tech, engineering, mathematics)
Must have at least 5 years of experience in a leadership or impactful technical role
Can include academic leaders, researchers, innovators, engineers, tech leads, or founders
Must be based in or contributing significantly to the UK STEM ecosystem
Judging Criteria
Technical Excellence: Depth of contribution to STEM knowledge or innovation
Leadership: Team or project leadership, innovation management, or organisational influence
Mentorship & Advocacy: Contribution to advancing women and underrepresented groups in STEM
Public Influence: Visibility in media, public speaking, education, or policy
QUALITATIVE CRITERIA
Technical Excellence: Depth of contribution to STEM knowledge or innovation
Leadership: Team or project leadership, innovation management, or organisational influence

ADDITIONAL CRITERIA
Must hold a senior or leadership-level position (technical, academic, or executive)
Nominee should have led a team, project, or program within the last 3 years
Not open to students, interns, or entry-level professionals
